Letters…

May 29, 2012

Our theme for this fortnight is is ‘letters’. I decided to take photos of word games! Like Boggle and Scrabble. I thought they were a good idea and followed along with it. I tried to make messages out of some of them to say with letters you can do anything. I really enjoyed taking them and I hope you like seeing them.

Studio Lighting: Flat

May 13, 2012

Flat lighting is where the lighting is set up up so that when you take the photo, it leaves no trace of shadow on the model. I used Michelle again as my model for this shot.

Butterfly lighting is where the light creates a small shading underneath the nose. I used Michelle as my model.

Broard lighting is where the side of the face closest to the camera is the most light on the face. I used my friend Lucy (http://shootgoos3.wordpress.com/) as my model.

Rembrandt lighting is having the terribly long procedure of getting light on one side of the face, but also getting a triangle under the eye on the shaded side. My model, Lucy (http://shootgoos3.wordpress.com/) and a few other classmates of mine spent days and weeks trying to succeed getting Rembrandt. We were all proud.

Short lighting is creating a photo with the models face facing towards you is shaded. I used two models for this photo, Emma (http://emmahollis.wordpress.com/) and Michelle. We had a lot of fun shooting this.

Monster Lighting is shining a light up under the face. Like when you are telling horror stories around the fire, holding the torch in a certain way so that you seem freaky. For this studio lighting, I used Lily (http://coolkidcameras.wordpress.com/). I think this was a succesful photo and I’m proud of Lily’s modeling.
